We work in partnership with Trading Standards to thoroughly check out every business on our register.  Our procedure means that as soon as a trader applies to join us we begin an in depth investigation into pretty much everything!  To begin with we make sure that they are who they claim to be by checking their personal details.  We also check out all addresses – personal and business.  We then look at all of their current and past businesses.  We check for bankruptcy.  We investigate all of their financial business, including creditworthiness.  We check their professional qualifications and certification, making sure that everything is in order and up to date.  We even look at insurance cover to make sure it is adequate for the jobs being done.

Once our team are satisfied, we pass the application to Trading Standards who conduct their own in depth investigations.  It’s not until Trading Standards give us the go ahead that we consider a business fully vetted.  All of this checking means that our consumer protection service is up and running from the very start.  We find this prevention-is-better-than-cure method a real success.  As do hundreds of satisfied consumers!
