Together we will offer a more comprehensive consumer protection service, in a partnership that already incorporates Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Dudley Trading Standards Services.


The Shipshape list was set up almost ten years ago by Solihull Trading Standards and has been a true trailblazer for consumer protection. It enabled consumers to choose a reliable business, to carry out their home improvements. They would be safe in the knowledge that if things should go wrong, there would be someone to turn to for free help and assistance.


As we follow in the footsteps of the people who designed and implemented the Shipshape list, we at No Rogue Traders Here would like to acknowledge our gratitude to the council, Trading Standards and the dedicated Shipshape team for all of the groundbreaking work they have done over the years.


The new system being offered by No Rogue Traders Here will not significantly change any structures already in place. You will still deal with traders who have passed a whole host of checks and have been thoroughly vetted and interviewed. Instead, we will simply be increasing the level of consumer protection available, in order to make it an even more comprehensive service.


In addition, Shipshape's many loyal customers and professional members, will be happy to learn that they can now have a choice of how they appoint a business, to carry out work for them. Since we at No Rogue Traders Here have taken over the work of Shipshape, on behalf of Solihull Trading Standards, we have committed ourselves to providing a service that will do justice to our predecessors. 8. SuperCover protection. To qualify for SuperCover protection you must have booked your job or service directly off the website or through the support line. If you are not completely happy with the end result of your job or service, No Rogue Traders Here will arrange, at their cost, for a professional to visit you to inspect the work. We will mediate with the support of Trading Standards to help resolve any issues. Trading Standards will decide whether the complaint is justified or not and if the complaint is upheld the trader will be asked to complete the work to your satisfaction. If the trader refuses, his membership will be terminated. SuperCover protection does not cover any financial losses you may occur and is not a guarantee of any work completed or service undertaken. Your statuary rights are not affected.

 

9. Membership for traders.

 

Membership to No Rogue Traders Here will commence on the day the application is signed and renewal will be 12 months from that date. Membership can be withdrawn at anytime, without notice, without reason and no refund of any monies will be due. Members will be entering into a contract with No Rogue Traders Here and not with Trading Standards.··


10. Fees for traders.

 

No Rogue Traders Here will give prior notice of at least one month of a price increase to our services. A price increase can occur at any time throughout a membership and throughout the year in relation to the yearly membership fee, lead fees and any other charges. Any increase in charges will be delivered by e-mail and it is the traders / businesses responsibility to ensure that we have a current e-mail address on our records at all times.

 

Yearly membership fee, lead fees and success fee:

 

  • £299 (+vat) per annum for unlimited classifications.
  • £10 (+vat) per lead you receive from our website.

    There will be a success fee for any work secured through our service. Work will be considered to be secured if after quoting, messaging or contacting the client via the website you are paid for some or all of the job advertised or similar or related work. Success fees will become due on the day the work is started. Any future work completed, discussed, verbally quoted or quoted will still qualify for a 3% success fee and a lead fee. It is the members responsibility to inform head office when all work is completed so a rating from the customer can be taken.

     

    The success fee is calculated at 3% (+vat) of the total value of the job with a minimum of £5 (+vat)

     

    11. Severance.

     

    If any of these Terms and Conditions should be determined to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable for any reason by any court of competent jurisdiction then such Term or Condition shall be severed and the remaining Terms and Conditions shall survive and remain in full force and effect and continue to be binding and enforceable.

     

    12. Governing Law.

     

    These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and you hereby submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
