What to do next
It's really very simple. First, you register with us. You get to choose how you'd like to do this – you can either register online or our team are just as happy to chat with you on the phone and take your details in a call. If you do register online and before you can use our services we'll give you a quick call to verify your details and that’s it!
Then, when you need to find a business you get in touch with us to let us know what you need. Again, you can do this by calling 0800 233 5000 or, if you like, you can post your job on our site yourself. Once you let us know your requirements we'll send out the information to our approved businesses via SMS. Then within about 10 minutes, we'll get back to you with the profiles of up to 3 businesses who are interested in doing your job. We send these profiles to your e-mail inbox. If its your first time in using our services the profiles may be sitting in your spam or junk folder.
These Trading Standards passed professionals will then get in touch with you themselves to arrange a meeting with you. If you prefer, say you need someone in an emergency, you could call the businesses straight away, their contact details will be on the profiles that you should have received by now.· After you've had a chance to meet all the businesses and compare quotes, you simply choose which one suits you best. The business will draw up a written quotation and contracts and, once you are all happy, work will begin.
Because we are primarily a consumer protection program we like to stay in touch with you at all stages of the process. Before you choose your preferred business one of our team will speak to you and record the amounts of all quotes received. When the job is completed, and before you have paid the business, we encourage you to give us a quick call on 0800 233 5000 and let us know how everything went. If you prefer, you can log in online and leave some feedback about the business you used.
We monitor all businesses on our books for quality and price on an on-going basis. We even carry out 'Mystery Shopper' exercises from time to time! This means that our traders stay on their toes, and are always careful to recommend the correct service and not just the most expensive, as they never know if they are dealing with a real customer or if it's one of our Mystery Shopper exercises!
