• How can I be sure that the professional I get will be who they say they are and they won't rip me off?

With our comprehensive list of checks it is highly unlikely that you will get a rogue trader. Not only do we get agreement from Trading Standards on every business membership, we also perform, identity checks, credit checks, bankruptcy checks, get proof that public liability is in force and get proof that the professional has the licenses necessary to trade in their particular field. We also ensure that each business has trading experience of at least 12 months and we write to their current customers for references. You really are in safe hands!

• Is it really completely free to register?

For the consumer it certainly is. We fund our website by charging the local businesses a small fee every time we get them a job. It really is that simple. We believe that the customer is already about to pay enough money to the professional for their job, so we doubt they'll want to pay more to register for our site.

• How long does it take to find the right professional for my job?

As soon as you post your job on site we will contact local professionals via email and SMS and you will get to choose from those that match your requirements. With our unique messaging service we can contact the professional you need quicker than many other business directories. You could get a professional to your door before the end of the day!

• How can I rate the professional who comes to do the job?

As a consumer, when your job is completed you will be encouraged to log in to the site and rate your professional online. It's very quick and easy and it will give other users the benefit of your experience. Professionals can also get an idea of how well they perform; constructive criticism and positive remarks are the key to success in business.

For the Professional

• What if my business doesn't pass all the comprehensive checks?

Then we are afraid you will be unable to become a member. We recommend that you concentrate on rectifying any problems you have with these checks and try again another time. These days there are an increasing amount of customers looking for squeaky clean business professionals, and if you're not one of them then you could lose business.

• I've only been trading for a few months, can I still register?

No, sadly you cannot. However, when you have been trading for 12 months or more please do come back and talk to us, we'll be very pleased to have you if you can pass all our checks.

• Do these comprehensive checks cost me money?

There is an annual fee of £149 (+vat) and this covers all the checks we will have to perform and includes your registration fee. If your business is unsuccessful you will be refunded all monies you have paid and there will be no further charges.

• What if I don't want a lead that is texted to me? Do I still have to pay you?

No. If you don't want a lead because you may be to busy or on holiday just ignore the text alert and you won't be charged anything. We will never rip you off. We understand that keeping our members happy is a priority. We like to see it as a partnership between you our member, consumers, Trading Standards and ourselves. It takes all four to work as a team striving to help rid the rogue trader!
